As we head into winter, keep this section of the municipal code in mind: § 245-27. Responsibility to remove snow and ice. The owner or owners, occupant or occupants, tenant or tenants of premises abutting or bordering upon any street in the Borough shall remove all snow and ice from the abutting sidewalks of such streets or, in the case of ice which may be so frozen as to make removal impracticable, shall cause the same to be thoroughly covered with sand, salt or other suitable materials within 12 hours of daylight after the same shall fall or be formed thereon. Please be advised that Borough Hall will close to the public at 5pm on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 due to the celebration of the Thanksgiving Holiday.  Please have a safe, happy holiday.  The Borough Hall will re-open for regular hours on Monday, December 2nd.

Today, November 13th, 2024, Governor Phil Murphy and Commissioner Shawn LaTourette announced that New Jersey has declared a Statewide Drought Warning. This measure was established via an Administrative Order signed by Commissioner Shawn LaTourette, which allows reservoir systems to preserve available supply, and for the Department to work with water systems to ensure functionality of interconnections, reduce water loss, and where appropriate, make transfers between various water sources. Hydrant replacement on Highland Ave is scheduled for today with an anticipated completion time of 3PM.

A significant lack of rain combined with warmer-than-average temperatures the past three months has prompted New Jersey officials to declare a drought watch, and ask residents to voluntarily conserve water. Regional Drinking-Water-Supply Indicators & Declared Water-Supply Status
